Visualizing Europe Day
On 9 May 1950, Robert Schuman, France’s foreign minister, sparked the creation of what is now know as the European Union by calling on France, Germany and other European countries to pool their production of coal and steel. Europe Day held on 9 May every year celebrates peace and unity in Europe.
These slides were used internally at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control for visualizing the European Union Member State. Only a font, a color scheme, a graphic of a man made national symbol, and a simple line is used.
The Europe slide merges all the lines and forms a word cloud using all the letters of the word „Europe“ from all languages.
